No other city in Germany experienced so much historical events in the past 100 years: industrialization, inflation, Second World War, construction of the Wall and Cold War, economic miracle and socialism, reunification (German Wende) and the fall of the Wall.
Berlin has over 3.4 Million inhabitants (Last updated: 2007/08/31), more than any other city in Germany. Berlin is also the second largest city in Europe, directly after the number 1 London. It is the most urban city in Germany — big boulevards and monuments full of symbolism: Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, still a few meters of the German Wall and the Potsdamer Platz, for only name a few.
These points and also others make the return of the Euro-uRapid to Berlin (it was organized here in 2000) to a milestone in the history of the conference.
